You will need to allow at least 1.5 hour for this elearning course and you have 18 months in which to complete it from date of purchase. 

The course can be done completely online but will require a device that can access the internet and has audio capabilities.

Course description:

 This course will increase your general knowledge about safeguarding with specific focus on the complexities of safeguarding on residentials and events. It has been specifically designed for those who need to gain an understanding of this subject quickly and effectively. It is ideal as a first time or a refresher course.  

By the end of this course you will have an awareness of:  

  • What abuse is and how to recognise it  

  • Responding to issues such as self-harm, suicide ideation and gender identity 

  • Positions of trust  

  • Recognising grooming  

  • Considerations for supporting young people with additional needs  

  • Pre-event planning, policies and logistics  

  • How to respond to concerns and the importance of responding well  

  • What safeguarding is and why it’s important  

Who is it for?

 This course has been designed for anyone who is volunteering or working at a residential or event. If you are a safeguarding lead, or your role involves regular, ongoing contact with children, young people or adults at risk of harm you should view our whole suite of training courses currently on offer here.
