The course can be done completely online but will require a device that can access the internet and has audio capabilities. The course has been designed to be completed in one go, so we recommend that you make time to complete the course from start to finish once you access it.

Course description:

This Gateway to Safeguarding course is designed to increase your general knowledge about safeguarding. It has been specifically designed for those who need to gain an understanding of this subject quickly and effectively and is ideal for those who need to learn about safeguarding for the first time, as well equipping those who want to refresh their knowledge and understanding of safeguarding in between completing any other safeguarding courses.

By the end of this course you will have an awareness of:  

  • What abuse is, what safeguarding is and why it’s important 
  • Some of the key issues and responsibilities in safeguarding children and adults 
  • How to respond to concerns and the importance of responding well 

Who is it for?

This course has been designed for anyone who wants to develop a basic awareness of safeguarding that will equip you with more in-depth knowledge. If your work or volunteering means you have regular, ongoing contact with children, young people or adults at risk of harm you should view our whole suite of training courses currently on offer here.
